Week #2 Day #1 - Nature & Character of God

After a week like the one we have just had, It would be rude of me not to want to share it with you.
This week we had a man named David Gava come to speak to us, David grew up in Zimbabwe in an environment where his family taught him to pray, fast & hear the voice of God from a very young age. He has an amazing life-changing encounter testimony of the saving, healing and resurrection power of Jesus Christ that set him free to walk into his destiny.
He carries a prophetic evangelist anointing with the heart for the father and desires to see people have a deep understanding of the Nature & Character of God so that they can be effective in making him known. His passion is to rise up a generation that is not ashamed of Jesus Christ who will preach the good news and see God's kingdom manifest in love and power in the nations of the earth. He loves witnessing and reaching out to unbelievers by hearing a specific word from God to address their need for salvation, healing and deliverance.
He has been serving with YWAM since doing his DTS in spring 1998 and has led schools of evangelism in Australia and Europe. He has been catalytic in the start of Kerusso school of the kingdom in Germany and Australia. He travels and ministers all over the world with YWAM and other ministries.

This past week he came to speak to my DTS on the Nature and Character Of God, the first day hearing him speak i was mind blown. I got six pages worth of notes just from the first day but still didn't manage to keep up with everything he was saying. Once he gets going, he really gets going!
I thought it would be only appropriate of me to share some of the notes i got from his teachings, but also recommend you to look him up online and find some of his teachings.

Your calling will cost you everything!

We quickly learned that hearing the voice of God isn't a gift you are born with, but a muscle you grow. A spiritual muscle. And we all know just like the muscles in your body, if you want them to grow you must work on them. Keep using them, pushing them to grow, getting into heavier weights and maintaining them or they'll slowly diminish. Our spiritual muscles are just the same, in order for you to have strength in your knowledge and wisdom you must work on it. Dive deep in to the word and prayer, yearn for a passionate relationship with God. And increase! You should never get to the stage where you think you have gone deep enough in everything and remain comfortable there. It's no fun when your in a position where you are comfortable and not growing. There is always so much more to find out. Everyday learning more and more about our God.
It also isn't complicated to hear Gods voice, religion complicates it. Find yourself in a place where everything else is silenced and allow God to speek to you.

The moment you say you love God, your saying you love the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit. You cannot just love one on its own. For we pray to the father through Jesus by the Holy Spirit.

What you believe about God is how you see everything else.

God speaks to your spirit, not you. For you are a spirit that lives inside a body.

Who are you? Why are you here?
The moment you realize who you really are you become a threat to the powers of the darkness.
God is love, we are made in his image so we are not love, but have love. We are not God. So who are we? When we don't know who we are it effects how we see God.

Who are you?
What are your values?
Where do you belong?
What is your purpose?

"To think that we can find our identity, purpose and meaning in life apart from God is the deception of sin."
-Diane Kurtenbach

How do you see yourself? When you look in the mirror, do you like the person looking back at you? How do you think God see's you? If God told you how he sees you would you believe it? We need to start seeing ourselves how God sees us.
When we understand who God is, we understand who we are.
Boast about knowing God, not about yourself!
-Jeremiah Nine v Twenty Three-Twenty Five
This is what the Lord says:
"Don't let the wise boast in their wisdom, or the powerful boast in their power, or the rich boast in their riches. But those who wish to boast should boast in this alone:
That they truly know me and understand that I am Lord who demonstrates unfailing love and who brings justice and righteousness to the earth, and that delight in these things. I, the Lord, have spoken!

So this concludes day one, as i have reached the end of my notes thinking it was ALL my notes, only to realize it was my notes from day one.
I shall proceed with the rest of the week tomorrow.
I encourage you to ponder on the various questions throughout this post and really think about the answer..
God Bless

KEEP STEPPING FORWARD
